OTT IPTV diagram

An over-the-top IPTV system is for the delivery of TV and associated digital services over the public internet to consumers.   A typical over-the-top content delivery system for digital TV services consists of the following:

  • A Terrestrial Antenna and Satellite Dish to receive live content.
  • A DVB-T/DVB-S/S2 headend (or TV Gateway) to tune and select to a bouquet of both national and international TV channels  (free-to-air and Pay TV channels).
  • A Transcoder to reduce the Video bandwidth for over-the-top streaming.
  • A Streaming Server to connect to consumer client devices.
  • OTT IPTV Middleware Server, to provide users with an interactive menu of digital TV services.
  • Video on Demand (VoD) Server for box office movies and films.
  • The IPTV system can be enhanced with time-shift TV (pausing live TV) and Personal Video Recorder (PVR).
  • The end user can use a set-top-box for use with a TV, or use mobile devices such as Tablets and Smartphones.

Revenue Generation

The over-the-top revenue model is based on monthly subscriptions.  We can provide a business model, to show revenue against monthly costs to allow the Service Provider to model profit.   In addition, we have agreements with Content Providers, so you can have VoD content for delivery.
